On Wednesday morning, unmarked vehicles with masked officers detained a man during a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Third Avenue near the Hall of Justice in Longview — authorities said ICE did not confirm if its agents were involved.
Longview police identified a suspect in a fatal stabbing who is reported to be driving a partially spray-painted black BMW—officials say further details remain under investigation.
🎓 Education
Lower Columbia College cut 1.8 million dollars from its budget for 2026, leading to the loss of key positions — including the vice president of human services and the director of student programs and student housing — as a response to state funding cuts and vacant roles.
The new balanced budget will be presented to the Board of Trustees in September.
