Good morning, Longview.

Longview Mayor Spencer Boudreau faces retired worker Wayne Nichols and entrepreneur Marianne Chambers in the Aug.

5 primary for City Council Position 7—as each challenges his record on public safety and fiscal management. Boudreau defends his work on budgeting and housing while his challengers criticize his actions as political theater.

In Kelso, Jackie Collins—who served on city council in the early 90s and has lived in the city for 60 years—is running in the Aug.

5 primary for a four-year term against incumbent Mayor Pro-Tem Kimberly Lefebvre, who has held position 3 for seven years. Third candidate Sean Legry said he is not interested in advancing while Collins said she aims to address issues like city growth, rising crime, housing shortages, and infrastructure challenges as Kelso evolves.

Longview voters are preparing to elect new council members in the upcoming Cowlitz County primary election 2025—official candidate lists and polling locations will be confirmed soon.
