Good morning, Longview.

City officials announced planned sewer work on Louisiana Street to update the aging system & residents may face temporary traffic changes during the project.

Longview City Council adopted a new request for proposals for HOPE Village that requires the next operator to become a licensed behavioral health agency—this change will let the shelter access state and Medicaid reimbursements as it shifts away from the previous state funding model. The Salvation Army will not bid on the contract, proposals will be posted on May 14, sealed proposals will be due on Aug. 15, and a vendor is expected to be chosen by Oct. 1.
