Razor clam diggers flocked to Long Beach for a chance to harvest clams during the latest approved dates ending Monday. Probe into Mysterious Odor Points to Paper Mill

Washington's Department of Ecology is probing into Longview's WestRock mill as a potential cause of the strange odor reported from Kelso to Portland last month. Although no air quality permit violations have been confirmed yet, the investigation is focused on analyzing the mill's air quality data to determine its link to the complaints. The reported odor, described by residents as similar to burning rubber or garbage, led to numerous complaints but has not been deemed dangerous. Initial testing by both the Washington Department of Ecology and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency found nothing abnormal in the air quality.

Thousands of Washingtonians start their day with Good Day Longview

“Reading the newsletter has become a really positive daily habit for me. I read it while drinking my coffee and planning the day. It saves me a ton of time, but it's really enjoyable too. It's great to have the news filtered down to just a handful of critical events everyday that actually matters to me. I also like reading the community profiles. They interview people locally like teachers, politicians, and small business owners. It's hard to find this anywhere else.”

“I'm a senior citizen here in Longview, and this newsletter is like a lifeline. I don't have the attention span these days to read the paper, and Facebook is a mess. This newsletter keeps me informed, without taking the whole day from me.”

“I like how this newsletter keeps me connected with our community. It's great to have a dedicated source that focuses on what's going on locally. So many news companies are focused on huge attention-grabbing national headlines. But, besides the entertainment value, it's not really relevant to my day-to-day. Also it's great the newsletter is free.”

“This newsletter has been a game-changer for my business. It not only highlights local news but also features small businesses like mine. It's a great platform for local exposure.”

“I'm a parent, and it's apparent how busy that makes me. I LOVE newspapers (especially the smell), but I never have time to read it anymore. So thank god this newsletter exists, and I can read it in a few minutes. If anything is really critical or catches my eye, I can always spend more time reading into each piece of news, but it isn't usually necessary.”
